What we do not charge for
Whether a customer‘s heat is supplied from a gas fired boiler or with heat from a communal system, the customer should not pay any contribution toward the capital cost of the plant.
A customer’s gas bill does not show the cost of the gas boiler or the cost of installing the gas pipe. A customer’s heat bill should be no different.
The cost of maintenance and repair of the supply equipment may be included but not a replacement cost of equipment not owned by the customer. The heat industry has gained a poor reputation across a number of schemes where customers are paying high prices simply to pay back the way a heat scheme was originally financed.
Q Heat believe the flat owner / tenant has already purchased the heating system and should not be doubly charged. It is important to explain to heat customers the basis of how their charges are made.
Unlike gas and electricity markets, there is no competition in supply meaning that dissatisfied customers have no alternative choice of supplier making it more important that we go an extra mile when required.
